Day 1: Tim and I met on a trip to Ethiopia. I was in college at UT Martin and was on the hunt for something cool to do that summer (2003). He was at University of Central Florida and had planned to spend the summer in Kenya. After a tragic plane bombing in Kenya a few days before his trip, he was re-routed to Ethiopia. We met at pre-field training, then spent the summer on the same team in Ethiopia. After several months of keeping in touch after the trip, we ended up dating…and the rest is history.
